Clever Yoga Block
Q: How do I use the yoga block?
A: There are a lot of uses for your yoga block. For instance, a block can help develop balance and strength. If you have trouble holding a yoga pose, like crescent lunge, a yoga block literally brings the earth up to you, so you can settle into the posture with more ease and support, and focus on better balance and proper alignment.
If one of your goals is to increase your flexibility, the yoga block is a great tool. For example, while in triangle pose, a yoga block can allow the hamstrings to open more and for the chest and shoulders to broaden. A block helps establish a firm foundation which, in turns, allows the upper body to become more flexible.
Another awesome use for the block is as a support in more passive postures. For example, two blocks can be used, one between the shoulder blades, and the other supporting the head. The body is able to let go, sink into the weight of the blocks. The upper back and neck has more likelihood to release tension while in this position.
Q: Does the yoga block come with a warranty?
A: Absolutely! You are protected by our “Namaste” lifetime guarantee. If you are not 100% satisfied with the block or if it doesn’t hold up for you, we will replace it free of charge, no questions asked.
Q: What is the block made out of and how do I care for it?
A: The block is made of eco-friendly recycled high density EVA foam. If you use it during a super sweaty yoga practice, use a very mild, diluted soap and water solution on a wash cloth and pat the block clean. Then, use a wash cloth with water only, to rinse. Let the block air dry. www.CleverYoga.com
Q: I’ve seen some poses where a person is standing on the block. Your block feels firm but I’m not sure I should put all of my weight on it.
A: Our block is made out of very firm foam. It’s not squishy but it’s also not as firm as a block made out of cork. We do not recommend standing on your block for sustained periods of time. It is a great prop, or tool, for your yoga poses. It’s not designed to be a stair stepper. One customer uses her block as a foot stool to support her feet while sitting in a chair which should work out just fine because, in a sitting position, there is little weight placed on the block.
Q: I really want to use my block for practicing yoga and for building a strong core. What exercises do you recommend?
